Description

Overview

Understand How the Auditor Determines Audit Risk Exposure and Confirms Payment or Requests Payment Returns.

This session with industry speakers Dr. James Dunnick, MD, FACC, will explain and use the CMS E/M guidelines and then use an auditor’s flow chart to follow the audit process to validate what auditors expect to see, why charts fail, and show specific areas of audit risk exposure.

You will see how an auditor determines billing levels and makes the decision to confirm payment or request payment return through real clinical examples. Our expert will walk through the auditor’s thought process and check sheet for an entire E/M note and discuss all aspects; CC, History, Physical Exam and Medical Decision Making.
