Learn how to create an emergency response plan and prepare for an Active Shooter incident

In most workplaces where risk factors can be identified, the risk of assault can be prevented or minimized if employers take appropriate precautions. Under the federal Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA), all employers have a general duty to provide a safe workplace for employees, free from recognized hazards that cause or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. OSHA believes that a well-written and implemented workplace violence prevention program, combined with engineering controls, administrative controls and training can reduce the incidence of workplace violence in both the private sector and federal workplaces.

Workplace Violence Events are having with more frequency and severity all over our country.  Unfortunately this is becoming all too common as societal violence spills over into the workplace. The FBI estimates that 1 million people are exposed to workplace violence each year.

This webinar will cover what OSHA requires in a Workplace Violence Prevention Program. This webinar will also discuss how to be proactive and put Programs in place to prevent a Workplace Violence Episode.  Site specific workplace violence prevention questions and answers, as well as potential scenarios, will be addressed.

Speaker Profile:

Joe Keenan, MBA, CSP is a highly experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and Human Resources (HR) Professional and Management Consultant with over 25 years of experience.  He received my Green Belt in Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing in 2005, Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with a Human Resource Management Concentration in 2007 and Certified Safety Professional (CSP) in 2011.  Currently he is serving as Mississippi and Alabama Area Director of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP). He served on the OSHA Voluntary Protection Program Participants Association (VPPPA) Region IV Board of Directors as a Director at Large from 2013-2015.  Since 2002, he is an OSHA General Industry and Construction 10/30-Hour Authorized Outreach Trainer (both renewed in 2016). “
