Description

A great deal of confusion exists in healthcare today regarding the compliant management of hazardous waste pharmaceuticals as defined by EPA and hazardous drugs as defined by NIOSH. In addition, there is uncertainty regarding the status of USP <800>, who enforces its standards, and how organizations can operationalize compliance with each of these requirements.

This session will provide a high level understanding of definitions and the current status of EPA’s new Final Rule based on state adoption and how to approach protecting employees from hazardous drugs.

This webinar will focus on the EPA’s new Final Rule for the management of hazardous waste pharmaceuticals and NIOSH’s definitions of a hazardous drug for the protection of employees. We’ll provide a high level summary of both issues, discuss the status of USP <800> with respect to the Assessment of Risk, and provide a check list to assist organizations in their compliance efforts.
